I care as much about how a product looks as how it thinks.
My inspiration comes from painting, dance, sports, crafts, books, nature, waterdrops in my sink, and people-watching.

Painting When I was six, I ripped up brand-new wood flooring while the workers were still installing it. I just wanted to see what was underneath. My parents still bring this up, along with the investigated furniture and the toolbox they had to hide from me. They joked it would be my gift when I grew up. Still waiting.
When I took my first HCD course, it felt like I finally found my tribe. My professor Harry said something I still come back to: "Instead of designing something cool, think about designing to help someone." I've been obsessed ever since.
I'm a product designer now working on complex products — developer tools, B2B platforms — the kind where you have to actually understand how things work underneath before you design anything helpful. So I do what I've always done: go in, hands-on, figure it out. I went from knowing nothing about blockchain to shaping product direction in months. Not because I studied. Because I started taking things apart.
When I walk into something new and undefined, I feel more confident, not less. That's when my brain lights up. A thousand dots living in my head at the same time, wanting to be connected. And at some point something new comes out. That moment where my inner bar is met is what I'm always chasing.
I love solving design problems on an acupuncture table, eyes closed, needles in. My acupuncturist doesn't know she's part of the team. In a dance studio, I find movement nobody choreographed. At work, I see the direction before the brief exists.

"Chang has this attitude of 'there's a problem and I'm going to solve it.' She always comes back with a solution backed by real research — and it always works. She isn't the loudest in the room, but she always makes an impact."
Will Waltrip — Senior Director, AvaCloud
"Chang rapidly familiarized herself with our processes, tools, and workflows, becoming a valuable contributor in a very short time. She listens carefully to feedback and actively incorporates it, ensuring stakeholder expectations are met and often exceeded. Her collaborative approach has strengthened both design output and relationships across teams."
Yulin Dong — Director of Client Services, AvaCloud
"What truly makes Chang stand out is her rare skill in combining high-quality design with strategic brand development, and bringing this together at the execution speed needed for a high-growth startup. Her work resonates with both B2C and B2B audiences, creating meaningful and impactful user experiences."
Valerie Angelkos — CMO, Genuin (Ex-Google)
"Chang did a thoughtful initial discovery to help flush out the idea, asking good questions to understand every relevant aspect of the project. She also gave accurate timelines for every milestone with prompt communication and updates, and followed through on those delivery times."
Anton — Co-Founder and CEO, CheetahBooking
"Chang is an absolute joy to work with. She can jump in to help out with a whole range of tasks at a moment's notice, from landing pages to ads. She has the unique ability to take on a lot of different challenges without skipping a beat."
Phoebe Dodds — Founder, Social Capital
"Chang has had a huge impact on AvaCloud's progression. The portal is almost unrecognizable from a year ago — much of our adoption is due to her work on usability and design. She's always looking to involve the whole team in the design process instead of just passing designs down, which leads to fewer bugs and more complete deliverables."
Nick Stamm — Web3 Solution Architect, AvaCloud
